IPTI IPTI and the Petroleum Division was founded to provide mechanical engineers working in the areas of Petroleum, Natural Gas, Petrochemicals, Coal, Oil Shale, and others with the opportunity to participate in technical workshops and conferences while fostering the continued growth of engineering education and promotion of mechanical engineering as a career choice. ITPI is comprised of three ASME technical communities the Petroleum Division (PD), the Pipeline Systems Division (PSD), and the Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OOAE) Division.

Marine Operations Specialty Symposium. March 5-8, Singapore. The need of such a symposium is demonstrated by the boom of shallow and deepwater operations and facility installation activities worldwide from universities, research institutes, third parties, and offshore industries. In general this symposium will cover all offshore operation and installation related issues.
27th International Conference on Offshore Mechanics and Arctic Engineering (OMAE 2008). 15-20 June, 2008, Estoril, Portugal. The event is organised by ASME International, the OOAE Division of the International Petroleum Technology Institute (IPTI), and the Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon), through its Unit of Marine Technology and Engineering and is sponsored by various professional associations of many countries. The objective of this annual international event is to provide a forum for the scientific and industrial community from around the world to meet and present advances in technology and its scientific support, to exchange ideas and experience whilst promoting technological progress and its application in industry as well as international cooperation in ocean, offshore and arctic engineering.
International Pipeline Conference. September 29 - October 3, 2008, Calgary, Canada. Organized by volunteers representing international E&P, transmission, and distribution corporations, energy and pipeline associations and governments, the IPC has become internationally renowned as the world’s premier pipeline conference. This is a not-for-profit conference and proceeds continue to support educational initiatives in the pipeline industry.
